Thermal Grizzly and Noctua have teamed up to release a new version of the WireView Pro II graphics card monitoring device. WireView Pro II Noctua Edition combines Thermal Grizzly’s power monitoring hardware with Noctua’s expertise in low-noise cooling to provide quieter operation by reducing the noise generated by device fans.

Thermal Grizzly CEO Roman Hartung said the graphics card monitoring device has become a popular solution and has helped many users identify potentially dangerous issues before they cause damage with the infamous 12V-2×6 connector.
WireView Pro II measures the current on each 12V line independently rather than simply monitoring overall power consumption. This allows you to identify abnormal current distribution and possible contact issues that could lead to connector damage. The device also provides visual and audible warnings when preset thresholds are exceeded, and supports an automatic shut-off feature.
“However, one of the most common comments was that the fan sound can still be heard in a very quiet system, so working with Noctua to create a significantly quieter cooling solution was the logical next step and we believe truly completed the product.”Hartung added.
The Noctua Edition replaces the standard cooling system with a custom design that includes Noctua NF-A4x10 fans, an optimized grille and a larger CNC-milled aluminum chassis. The fan operates in semi-passive mode: it remains off most of the time and only comes on when additional cooling is required.
In the worst case scenario (case fan off and temperature above 40°C), the device can handle up to 300 W of graphics card load without turning on its own fan. When active cooling is required, the fan speed is below 2000 rpm (5000 rpm for WireView Pro II standard), reducing noise levels from 39.4 dBA to just 21.5 dBA when measured from a distance of 10 cm. This should make the device nearly silent compared to other fans in PCs which are very quiet.
WireView Pro II Noctua Edition is available in regular and reverse versions, allowing the unit to be used with a variety of 12V-2×6 connector positions and cable layouts. In addition, the graphics card connector comes with a two-year extended warranty. Cost of new item is $189.90 ($222.18 including tax).
