Microsoft continues to actively test and improve the Disc to Digital program on Xbox consoles, which allows you to obtain digital game licenses after installing a disc. The company not only expanded the list of available items, but also changed the mechanics of the system to make it more convenient for players.
In the latest update, the Disc-to-Digital Project has made changes to the license redemption system. Players can now transfer each item from disk to digital without having to interact with each item’s notifications individually:
- Now, when you launch the game, the digital copy is automatically activated, eliminating the need to confirm through a separate menu.
- Full-screen instructions for digital conversion format only for the first game save disc the user has converted in this way.
- When launching digital game rights for an additional project after the first one, only a notification is now displayed.

Previously, players on social networks pointed out that converting a large number of disc-based games to digital games is “real work” and takes a lot of time. The changes Xbox has made should speed up the process significantly.
