Brain Jar Games announced that the rhythm action game “Dead As Disco” has attracted more than 500,000 players since entering Steam Early Access. Meanwhile, the developers have released their biggest update yet, adding a ton of new content.
The game has a new boss, Daria, a former pianist and band dancer known as the “Lost Lady.” The battle with her takes place in the new location “Solanum”, which combines a club and a botanical garden. The battle consists of several stages: as Dahlia transforms into the form of death, the bright show gradually gives way to scenes of lava, coal and ash. After defeating her, Charlie gains her skill tree.
In addition to bosses, a new enemy, Flamecho, also appears in the game. It attacks with fire from a distance, then rushes into melee combat with an unstoppable attack. There is also the added danger of the burn effect, which can damage the beat of the music.
The musical section is supplemented by five pieces, including two versions of the song “La Pantera”, “Sugar and Spice”, “Suavemente” and “Kumbala”. Dahlia’s title track combines Spanish piano and Latin influences. The developers also remapped the controller buttons based on player feedback, and made some changes to the interface, combat system, and other gameplay elements.
