FBI Cyber Division Assistant Director Brett Leatherman announced the arrest of a ShinyHunters leader in the Netherlands in a new video on the department’s official YouTube channel.
Leatherman said the arrest of the suspect was carried out by the high-tech crime unit of the Dutch National Police in accordance with the country’s laws.
Letterman expressed confidence that capturing one of the leaders would help track down other members of the Shining Hunters: “Arrests change people’s willingness to connect, and the infrastructure of occupation allows us to see who’s left”.
“The longer you wait, the more we learn about you. You know how to find us, and we know how to find you. I suggest you get in touch while you still have options.”Leatherman addressed the ShinyHunters members.

According to FBI statistics, since 2025, ShinyHunters members have invaded the systems of more than 140 organizations around the world and obtained at least $70 million in ransoms (Rockstar did not cooperate with the attackers).
As for Rockstar, the data stolen by ShinyHunters does not include assets for the highly anticipated open-world crime thriller GTA VI, but rather information about player spending on the studio’s past projects.
