Valve has released a major update for Deadlock, the MOBA shooter Deadlock, which will allow the game to break its own record for the largest number of players. In this little article, we’ll take a quick look at what exactly the update brings.
First of all, six new heroes have been added to the game: Danny the Undead, Nurse Harrow, Solomon, Bubba, Violet, and the Rat King. As before, their release order is determined by player voting. Two heroes will be released on Tuesday and Friday, with the first vote taking place on October 2 to determine the released hero. You can now vote in the pregame lobby and the winning team’s vote will be given double weight. The first place winner of the day will also receive double the votes.

Eight new enemies and four new locations appear on the New York map. New points of interest and objects are also available for players to use. There is an underground sunken square with precious rewards, and in Chinatown you can climb the clock tower, where a large number of souls are concentrated. You can also break empowered crates with heavy attacks, find containers with permanent rewards, and use healing snacks. Steam vents have appeared on the streets, providing invisibility and a small amount of health regeneration.
Mysterious Broker traders may appear in different places on the map, offering special items and modifications. Its products have random negative attributes determined for each game, and the set of these attributes is the same for all participants in a given game. The first items will appear approximately 30 minutes after the match starts, with new damaged items appearing on average every 15 minutes.
The interface has been significantly redesigned. During a match, indicators appear for allies, health, stamina, critical status, and the availability of certain abilities. Improved information about neutral opponents, objectives, and rewards for killing enemies. A new event source displays important events in a match and identifies items or abilities that dealt critical hits. The store features filters, improved search and sorting, and popular item recommendations based on player profiles.
The developers have also redesigned the team interaction system. The game features new object, enemy and item signal types, with a total of over 15,000 new and updated signals. Players will be able to report enemy status, health and respawn times, tag items in the store and quickly transmit messages to allies.
This update also expands voice support. The number of pre-match conversations between new heroes and existing heroes has increased from more than 700 to more than 1,500, and more than 10,000 new lines of dialogue have been added to the game that have nothing to do with the signal system. In addition, a separate player has appeared that allows you to listen to the available voice lines of heroes and patrons.
Accessibility settings have been updated to include features such as auto-movement, auto-obstacle avoidance, auto-shoot, camera shake adjustment, crosshair color and subtitle options, and are now customizable by size, color and font.
Sandbox tools have been expanded. They added recording and playback of robot movements, loop repetition of recordings, damage analysis, DPS measurement, setting target characteristics, controlling the appearance of enemies and objects, a free camera, and the ability to compare builds. Aiming and control settings can now also be saved as codes and transferred to other players.
Finally, the update includes changes to the Source 2 engine, improvements to anti-cheat protection, network predictions, rendering and audio performance, localization, animations and sound effects. We’ve also fixed a number of bugs related to heroes, bots, match viewing, key bindings, and game objects.
