Let’s remember that Naughty Dog made at least two games – the sci-fi action film Star Wars: Oracle and a secret game. The second project is rumored to be helmed by Uncharted: The Lost Legacy director Sean Escaig.
In early 2026, a photo of Escayg from a business trip piqued the interest of fans. The photo shows a view of the capital of the island nation of Trinidad and Tobago, and players viewed the photo as an unintentional trailer for Uncharted 5.
According to the portal MP1 computer Escaig quoted his sources as saying that he is indeed overseeing the production of a new Uncharted game for Naughty Dog. This is not a remake, but a continuation of the story of “Uncharted 4”.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy completed Nathan Drake’s story, but the older and wiser adventurer will reportedly appear in future projects. What role it plays is unclear.

According to MP1st, the new Uncharted is being prepared to be released after Star Effect: Prophets of Heresy (rumored to be released in 2027) and before The Last of Us Part III, which has yet to be officially confirmed.
Star Effect: Heretic Prophet and The Last of Us Part 2 creative director Neil Druckmann confirms Naughty Dog is in production “Several projects” Based on The Last of Us, expanding on the classic of dualism.
