SpaceCraft developers are preparing Community Update #2, which will be released on October 8th. The developers showed off the first part of the changes: players will find new places to explore, traveling merchants, more diverse planets, and additional ways to keep their base organized.
The major addition is 11 new restricted areas. In these mysterious buildings, you must explore the environment, solve puzzles and find out what is going on here. For each completed area, players will receive a unique data plate containing useful discoveries and experience points. However, if there is a greater need to provide content in a credits format, discs may still be sold.
Exploring the galaxy also allows you to meet traveling merchants. Each one has its own category and limited supply of points, and each player’s merchandise and available money are separate. A merchant’s specialization will determine exactly what he offers, from hulls and modules to ores, ingots, and patches. Granted, not every deal will be profitable.
Finally, the update will give the planet a fresh look, offering new foliage, atmosphere, sky and lighting color options. The library can also be personalized – change the colors of the buildings, assign them icons and give them your own names. The second part of the preview will be released next week and will discuss Extractor Pods, Trade Nexus trading orders, and improvements to layer six.
