Pixel Storm has announced a major Off-Road Warriors update for its multiplayer first-person shooter Enlisted. The main innovation was a fast SUV equipped with a machine gun that could transport soldiers, help capture strongholds and provide additional grenades to the infantry.
For every army that appears in the game, there’s a squad with its own vehicle to research. The Soviet Army received the GAZ-64 DS-39, Germany received the Kübelwagen 82, Japan received the Type 95 Kurogane, and the United States received the Willys M1919A4. The SUV is characterized by its high speed and ability to shoot enemies with its machine gun. Their crews can also capture control points without leaving their vehicles. There is a chest with extra grenades on the corpse. With them, fighters can instantly replenish supplies during combat, which is especially important when defending or attacking control points.
The update also expands the army’s arsenal. The Japanese army received the G4M1 bomber, which became Japan’s most produced bomber during World War II. The aircraft was armed with four 250kg bombs, several machine guns and a 20mm cannon. The U.S. Army received a Lewis Gun Home Guard with a 97-round magazine and an anti-aircraft scope. New advanced units include the Soviet P-39Q-15 Airacobra provided under Lend-Lease, Japanese soldiers equipped with IJN 80mm anti-tank grenade launchers, and special combat versions of the Willys and Kuberwagen for the United States and Germany.
Major changes affected graphics. On PCs with compatible hardware, a global path-traced lighting system is available, which can calculate indirect lighting using more physically correct light behavior. Additional ray tracing quality settings are now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X.
The developers have also redesigned some combat effects. Large caliber ammo now comes with new strike visuals, with powerful explosions that knock back nearby soldiers. Spent cartridges realistically bounce off surfaces, and vehicle damage effects have been updated.
These changes also affect hand-to-hand combat. The game now has redesigned animations for bayonet attacks, knife strikes, butts, and fists. Created separate animation for prone attack.
