Nicolas Cage’s performance at Dallas Fan Expo sparked heated debate online after the actor publicly compared the Marvel Cinematic Universe to “the well-funded and famous WWE.”
According to the artist, the series, once known for its strong plot twists, has become an endless conveyor belt of standardized fight scenes, with famous actors over fifty forced to wear ridiculous costumes to prepare for the next stereotypical massacre.
Ironically, Cage himself has been involved in numerous comic book adaptations, from the Ghost Rider duology to the recent Black Spider series. At the same time, he emphasized that his work attracted him precisely because of its noir detective story atmosphere and reliance on classical acting genres, rather than blindly following a blockbuster formula.
