id Software released a large-scale DLC Revelations for “DOOM: Dark Age” this year. It received high praise from players and journalists, and is now one of the highest-rated projects of the year. The DLC was priced at $19.99, but less than a month later it was already on sale at a 50% discount.
Now, developers at id Software have announced plans to expand the add-on. In November, an endless single-player carnage mode will be available to all DLC owners. In it, players will have to fight increasing waves of demons across multiple arenas. After completing the game, you’ll be able to earn cosmetics and improve your personal score, primarily competing against your own results.

The announcement of Carnage Mode was made during the latest Killer Club livestream. At this time, id Software has not revealed the exact release date of the update, nor has it specified whether owners of just the base game DOOM: Dark Ages (which is also available on Game Pass) will receive any major innovations in the upcoming update. Let us remind you that the price of the base game has been permanently reduced this September.
id Software is one of the hardest-hit studios on Xbox and is part of Asha Sharma’s “reboot” plan launched in July. At the same time, studio heads noted that the team is already working on new projects and that the recent cuts are not as significant as the media makes them out to be.
