The long-awaited Halloween update for Scream Fortress XVIII has officially launched in Team Fortress 2 and will run until November 7, 2026, bringing a wealth of new content.
Players can look forward to 5 new maps from the community (HolyHell, Scarypass, Trainsawlaser, Medi-Evil and Scaredy-Cat), the Haunted Treasure Collection with 23 cosmetic items, unique taunts and festive anomalies. All Soul Gargoyle owners will be able to replay the reset Halloween bounties, and all cases will temporarily grant exclusive effects for the current season.
The main technical and gameplay focus of the patch is a massive redesign of the Zombie Infection mode. Zombies get the long-awaited interface for selecting a spawn point, the ability to respawn at Zombie Engineer beacons, and brand new abilities: Engineers throw beacons, Spies equip themselves with electromagnetic pulse grenades, Pyro slows down enemies with goo, and Heavy learns to throw heavy boulders. In addition, the developers have done a lot of work on bugs, fixed a lot of buffs, textures, and optimized the map geometry.
