Nagoshi Studios, founded by Yakuza series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi, has effectively ceased to exist, according to VGC reporter Andy Robinson.
After NetEase unexpectedly stopped funding ambitious action film Gang of Dragons and demanded huge sums of money to complete development, traces of the studio began to disappear from the web quickly: both the official website and the premiere trailer were deleted.
Although the developer has yet to issue an official press release regarding the closure, sources say Nagoshi himself has been forced to find work at other companies. This result ended the fate of “Dragons” and brought a sad ending to this outstanding team of game designers. His departure from Sega was once considered the beginning of a new great chapter.
