Earlier this year, IKEA announced the launch of a furniture line called YXSTABY. It was created in partnership with Xbox and contains 9 projects, which we discussed in more detail here. The collection is arriving in stores now.
YXSTABY includes: gaming chair, monitor stand, TV stand, wheeled side table, laptop stand with accessory storage, throw pillow, metal tray and display case for displaying collectibles. The products will be available in IKEA stores worldwide from October 1, with specific product availability varying by market. They are expected to be released on the online store later this year.
The most unusual element of the collection is the thumb stool. It was developed based on original 3D archives of the Xbox controller provided by Microsoft experts. The shape of the stick adapts to the seat, and the unique texture of the handle is used to help keep it on the surface. The stool sells for 39.99 euros in Europe.
It’s unclear how long Xbox-themed YXSTABY collectibles will be available for purchase. This collaboration commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Microsoft gaming brand.
