Uncompromising survivalist Stoneguard has over 17,000 additions to the Steam wishlist. For the small team, this was an important sign: Interest in grim survival was growing even before the game launched.
Stone Guard proposes to combine the construction of a settlement, the management of its inhabitants and the struggle for survival, in a world where a peaceful day only requires preparation for the next night. Players must gather resources, develop a base and strengthen defenses against attacks by alien creatures. When night falls, the fortress built during the day becomes the last line of defense for the Stone of Life.

The developers say they are continuing to work on updates and are now focusing on the core gameplay system. The team is improving buildings and defenses, resource and population management, the combat system, and the night waves themselves. Co-op gets special attention, as you must join forces with other players to defend a settlement from encroaching chaos.
Just 17,000 wishes doesn’t guarantee the game’s success, but it does show that Stoneguard has found its audience. Now it’s up to the developers to prove that interest with meaningful updates and turn Bastion’s promising idea of surviving day after day into a truly intense survival experience.
