No one would have thought that a new motherboard based on the eight-year-old AMD B450 chipset (launched in 2018) would appear on the market in 2026, but Gigabyte has just quietly launched two new AM4 platform products based on the system’s logic set. We are talking about the B450M D3HP and B450M D3HP WIFI6E boards. As VideoCardz writes, they are exactly new solutions and not updated versions of previously released motherboard models.

Both motherboards are manufactured in Micro-ATX format and feature a 6-phase (6+2 circuit) VRM power subsystem. This motherboard has four DIMM slots for DDR4 memory. Gigabyte claims that the motherboard shown supports Ryzen 3000, Ryzen 4000 and Ryzen 5000 processors. They are equipped with two M.2 slots. One of the slots is powered by the processor and supports the PCIe 3.0 x4 interface, while the second slot is connected to the B450 chipset and operates in PCIe 2.0 x2 mode. The motherboard also has four SATA III connectors (6 Gb/s).
Despite using the very old B450 chipset, the D3HP model gains many features unique to modern Gigabyte motherboards. We’re talking about the BIOS Q-Flash Plus update feature, the front USB-C port with 5 Gbps speeds, the Smart Fan 6 feature for controlling fans through the BIOS, and three connectors for ARGB lighting. These motherboards come with one DisplayPort 1.2 video output and two HDMI 2.0b. Realtek Gigabit Network Controllers provide wired networking capabilities.
The B450M D3HP WIFI6E is built on the same basic platform, but in addition to the Gigabit network card controller, it is also equipped with a Wi-Fi 6E wireless controller. It claims transfer speeds of up to 2.4 Gbps and supports the 6 GHz band.
GIGABYTE did not disclose the cost of the motherboards shown or information about their regional availability.
