The new iPad mini with an OLED display, which Apple will release this month, may become noticeably more expensive than the current model. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is considering a starting price of $799 versus $599 for the current model.

According to rumors, in addition to the OLED display, the tablet will receive thinner frames and an updated body design. Apple also plans to improve the speaker system and install a more powerful processor, presumably the A20 Pro, which is used in the flagship smartphone iPhone 18 Pro.

However, it is not yet known whether the OLED panel will be comparable in performance to the advanced tandem OLED display of the iPad Pro. Sources also disagree on ProMotion support with a 120Hz refresh rate.

If the price of the new product actually approaches $799, the new iPad mini will be more expensive than the basic version of the 11-inch iPad Air.

The presentation of the tablet is expected at a separate Apple event at the end of October, where the company should also show two MacBook Pro models with OLED screens of 14 and 16 inches. Before this, on Tuesday, Apple will hold a Welcome home presentation dedicated to the development of the smart home ecosystem and the first proprietary display for controlling home devices.
