Factorio will soon receive a useful quality of life feature. As the developers announced in a blog post on the strategy game’s official website, the so-called Factoriopedia will soon be launched. As the name suggests, this is an overview intended to provide users with a more pleasant gaming experience. All items and recipes available in the game are clearly listed here. If you don’t know what an item does exactly, you can simply look it up in the Factoriopedia.
This is behind the Factoriopedia in Factorio 2.0
“Factorio has a whole host of items and recipes,” the post says. “Because the new things are unlocked over time, the number is manageable. However, with the space age, there are a lot of new things to unlock and it’s easy to lose track.” Although there are mods that would address the problem, they now want to offer an official solution. “All we had to do was collect the useful information in a GUI. And so Factorio pedia was born.”
The primary aim is to simplify the use of recipes. Firstly, if a player wants to know how to craft an ingredient for a specific recipe. On the other hand – and this is even more complicated according to the developers – when a player discovers a new recipe but is completely unaware of the use of the item produced. So far there is no way to solve this problem in the game. Most recently, there have already been improvements to the sound of Factorio 2.0 and a new function that was previously thought impossible to implement.
