Since his appearance in the first game, Cameron Monaghan’s role within the Star Wars franchise has been gaining strength thanks to the excellent work he has done portraying Cal Lasted. Everything indicates that, sooner or later, his presence in a film or series will be a reality, but Monaghan is clear that he does not want to be simply a cameo.
In an interview with The Direct, the Californian actor addressed this possibility of seeing him on the big (or small) screen and the way he would approach it. Monaghan would have no problem playing Kestis in real life, but he is determined that if he does, it will be for a meaningful reason.
“It would have to be fine. By that I mean that it has to continue the story or the character in some way. I don’t want it to appear just to be there. I want it to mean something and have a meaning for the character itself. So it would have to be make sense. But in the right context, yes, of course.
It is noted that Monaghan has a strong attachment to Kestis and wishes that Star Wars Use it for more than just an appearance. The reality is that we know little about his past or future beyond the Respawn games, and it would be very interesting to explore where the character is headed after the events of Jedi: Survivor.
For now, we will have to wait to see what happens with this character in the series and films of the saga, while we focus on another character who seems to be one of the main protagonists of the franchise in the coming years: Your Djarin. In addition to the film directed by Jon Favreau, we have also learned that Respawn Entertainment already has a video game focused on this character in development, so we can expect great things from this fascinating bounty hunter.
