For many years there had been great doubt as to whether we would ever see a release of Skull and Bones. Ubisoft had postponed the live service title with a pirate setting again and again. But in the meantime, what was once thought impossible has been made possible and the sails have been set for the game.
However, the ratings for Skull and Bones (buy now) are quite bad at the start. Neither the voices of the press nor the opinions of the players paint a particularly glorious picture of the former endless project. In this mixed situation, Ubisoft is trying to get as many landlubbers as possible onto the high seas from PC and console.
Play Skull and Bones for free
Since the launch you have had the opportunity to play the game for free to try out. In total, you have eight hours of opportunity to let off steam in the latest Ubisoft title. If you then decide to purchase it, you can continue with your save from the free period. This is exactly how it was handled in the open beta for Skull and Bones.
The eight hours are available to you on all platforms for which the game was released. These are the PC, the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S. According to the company, saved games can also be transferred between different platforms. On the PC, it should be noted that so far there is “only” a version for the Epic Games Store and UPlay, but not for Steam.

Way too expensive? No, says the Ubisoft boss – and defends the high price of the new game
The release of a new Ubisoft game is just around the corner, but the price currently seems astronomical to some.
It remains questionable whether this campaign will be able to reach new customers for the game. In the comments section of the trailer for the free trial for the PS5, enthusiasm is rather limited. Instead, people are quite surprised that such a campaign seems to be necessary for the game’s release.

In recent years, Ubisoft has not only attracted attention through allegations of systematic abuse or strikes. Beyond Good and Evil 2 is considered another endless project whose fate seems to be hanging in the balance. Assassin’s Creed is as present as ever with a possible remake of Black Flag, among other things.
