In December last year, the South Korean newspaper Maeil Business Newspaper revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 headphones could receive the call translation function in the second half of 2024. Now, however, the Chinese page Cool3C reports that the new feature is already available on devices in the United States.
On the 15th, the Chinese page Mashdigi had already recorded the arrival of an updated firmware on the Indian market that allowed the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Galaxy Buds2 and Galaxy Buds FE to use the real-time translation functionality. And it didn't take long for Samsung to start expanding this function to other countries.

Function allows real-time translation during calls
According to the Cool3C website, Galaxy Buds2 users in the US can now enjoy a seamless communication experience in multiple languages through the real-time translation feature.
The new feature integrates the Artificial Intelligence (AI) features that Samsung introduced to the market with its Galaxy AI. Launched in conjunction with the new Galaxy S24 series of smartphones, Galaxy AI was also announced for previous models such as the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5.
For now, to use this tool, you need to pair the Galaxy Buds with a Galaxy S24 smartphone. From this connection, the user can make calls and listen to the conversation content in the specified translation language through the headset.
The person on the other end of the call will also be able to hear and recognize the translation through their cell phone. Translation may cause some delays in voice content, but it still enables effective communication between two people who speak different languages.
Samsung has not released an official schedule for the arrival of the translation functionality to the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Galaxy Buds2 and Galaxy Buds FE in other markets outside the United States, but the expectation is that this will not take long to happen.
