After a first installment in the 80s and a sequel in 2010, the Tron saga will return next year with Tron: Ares, the third film set in Disney's virtual world. Starring Jared Leto, filming began several months ago and, after a while without news, we have finally been able to see a first look at the protagonist.
Through his social networks, the American actor shared the first official image of the film, although without any type of context and with little information beyond the suit that our protagonist will use to enter the world of Tron.
In addition, the company has offered the first preview of the plot, confirming that it will be a confrontation between humans and Artificial Intelligences within the real world: “Tron: Ares follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world to the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humanity's first encounter with Artificial Intelligence beings.”
As for the release date, it is expected that Tron: Ares will officially launch sometime in 2025. Joachim Rønning will direct the film, which will feature a stellar cast that includes Jared Leto as the protagonist, accompanied by Evan Peters, Cameron Monaghan, among others.
