Realistic tactical shooter Arma Reforger has released a major update 1.8 that will make combat more realistic and deadly. The developers redesigned the disguises, improved the behavior of the robots, strengthened the role of specialists and added non-standard ways of interacting on the battlefield.
The main innovation was the first version of the Far Hide system. Players hiding in tall grass at a distance should no longer stand out so much in open spaces. Previously, at a distance of about 750 meters, vegetation could not be displayed at all, and the ambush became quite strange. Additionally, brush and camouflage networks now prevent AI from detecting fighters, so stealth becomes even more useful against computer opponents.
These changes also affect experts. Medical personnel quickly checked and treated the injured and put them on transport vehicles. Logistics personnel have accelerated their supply work, equipment personnel have accelerated repairs, refueling and replenishing ammunition, and engineers have also accelerated their construction speed. For field fortifications, it is now enough to have one necessary item, and the rest will be automatically taken from the inventory.
The developers also added new gesture and rest animations, multiple options for the US Army’s under-barreled smoke grenades, and longer-lasting smoke from mortars. Engineers are now able to install coiled wire themselves, and the PKMN can now be placed on a 6T5 tripod with or without a 1P29 optic. At the same time, Arma Reforger appears in the Microsoft Store and supports Xbox Play Anywhere.
