This week, the full classic version of Gothic 2 was released on consoles. The game was released first on Xbox consoles and is also available on Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One. The developers have made major changes to the localization of the project, updating text translations and dubbing. The game also has some improvements in graphics, but in the settings you can choose the most classic graphics. Tests have emerged showing how it works on consoles.
Gothic 2 Complete Classic on all Xbox consoles only offers one graphics mode:
- Xbox Series X (test). 4K resolution is stable at 60FPS, and there is no problem of frame rate drop.
- Xbox Series S (test). Resolution range is 1080p to 1152p (60fps). Frame rate is stable.
- Xbox One(test). 1080p resolution, targeting 60 FPS. But the frame rate here is noticeably worse than on current generation consoles. During sharp turns, FPS may drop to 35-40 fps levels; there will also be an FPS loss during combat.
- Xbox Onetest). The resolution is 1080p, 60 FPS, but the frame rate is not always stable. Like the Xbox One, there’s a drop in FPS, but it’s not too dramatic – from 5 to 10 frames, and it doesn’t affect the overall experience of the game.
