To coincide with the upcoming reboot of the cult series, Microsoft is launching new hardware. Xbox has launched an official limited edition controller for Gears of War: E-Day. At the same time, the iconic Crimson Omen design is coming to Xbox Design Labs with new customization options.
Microsoft and The Coalition are getting fans excited for the upcoming action blockbuster Gears of War: E-Day. To celebrate the return of the Locust Invasion, Xbox has launched an officially licensed limited edition Xbox Wireless Controller with an E-Day look. But that’s not all: If you prefer to take matters into your own hands and design your input devices individually, Xbox Design Labs now offers new customization options based on Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago’s Dark Universe.
The new Xbox Wireless Controller in Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition impresses with its eye-catching military design. The front features a distressed metal texture in the style of KOR (Ordinary Government Alliance) armor, while the red Crimson Omen logo and blood-red accents on the D-pad and shoulder buckle add highlights. The rubber anti-slip surface on the back ensures a secure grip during the heat of battle. Technically, this model offers the usual features like Bluetooth connectivity, a share button, and a headphone jack.
At the same time, Microsoft is expanding the Xbox Design Lab’s product portfolio. Players can now choose different Gears-style shell colors, use the Crimson Omen as a background graphic, or decorate keys with unique gear symbolism. The triggers and D-pad also feature a metallic finish, allowing you to customize the controller to your personal taste.
The Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition Controller is now available for pre-order from the Microsoft Store and select retailers. The official start of sales is expected in late autumn, just in time for the release of the game.
