Will the new version of First Mafia be optimized again for current generation consoles? The new age classification at least proposes such a plan!
In 2020, the first Mafia was re-released as a significantly optimized and final version, with a new luster on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Further optimizations can now be made for new consoles from Sony and Microsoft.
The age rating for Mafia: Definitive Edition has now appeared on the ESRB, specifically mentioning the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions. There are growing signs that further work has been done on the remaster to bring further technical improvements to the current generation.

An official announcement from 2K Games has yet to be made. The fact that it’s approved for use in the U.S. for children 17 and older (the M stands for mature) gives hope that news on this will be coming soon.
If that happens, the exciting question will be whether buyers of last-gen consoles will get free upgrades to the PS5 and XSX versions, or whether they’ll be asked to pay extra. Of course, we’ll keep you updated!
