Nvidia has completed beta testing of its native GeForce Now app for Linux. The client continues to support Ubuntu 24.04 and higher. Nvidia has also added an official Flatpak repository for software installation and future updates.

Support for GeForce Now on Linux was announced back in January. Subsequently, Nvidia launched beta testing of native applications, focusing on supporting Ubuntu 24.04 as the Linux platform under test, although the Flatpak package can run on other distributions. Six months later, Nvidia said it is testing user feedback on a beta version of the app to improve its performance and stability ahead of its general launch today.

Nvidia’s updated download page now lists the Linux version without the previous “beta” tag. Users can install GeForce Now through the Nvidia .bin installer, or add the official GeForce Now Flatpak repository and install the com.nvidia.geforceNow package directly.

Nvidia also announced changes to the way DLSS frame generation technology works through GeForce Now. The company says the new cloud optimization reduces latency when frame generation is enabled, with the difference most noticeable when streaming at 60 or 120 fps at 1440p and 4K resolutions.

It is also reported that for users of the GeForce Now Performance tariff plan, server-side application performance has been improved for games that use intensive processor resources. Nvidia says changes to server software may increase frame rates in some games. This update is deployed on the Nvidia side, so there is no additional action required by the user.

This week, the company also added nine new games to the GeForce Now library, including Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, Misery, Sandusry, and the Monster Hunter Wilds prologue demo. The service currently supports more than 2,000 PC games from users’ existing libraries.
