The game director of the additional action game “Mist Hunter” nicknamed “HAO” talked about the most discussed issues among players. In his last episode, he talked about the fight against cheaters and dishonest associations, server issues, class balancing, single-player mode, and the prospect of trading emerging.
When it comes to cheaters, the developers promise not to limit themselves to one method of detecting offenders. Before blocking, they analyze client and server data, player behavior and complaints received. This approach should reduce the likelihood of false blocking. Confirmed violations will be subject to penalties.
The situation with dishonest associations is more complex. It’s not always possible to tell from a short clip whether the players are just an ordinary ad hoc fit or a pre-organized fit between multiple teams. As a result, developers look at duplicate matchmaking, interaction patterns, damage and kill profiles, item transfers, and routes within a match before making a decision. In the future, the team also plans to improve the complaint system and violation categories, and release blocking and detection rule information through official channels.
HAO also talked about ping and server stability issues. The team is reviewing server logs during peak load times, match data, matchmaking node information, and community feedback. In the near future, issues that directly affect the stability of the game will continue to be the focus. In the future, developers plan to solve issues such as client performance, resource loading, and network synchronization.
The balance issues this time mainly involve Black Arrow and Blight Knight. Developers evaluate the strength of a class through more than just win percentage and other statistical metrics. The analysis takes into account equipment level, team composition, specific game situations, and the availability of countermeasures in other categories. High intensity scores are not considered a problem in themselves. When a class becomes so effective that it becomes difficult for opponents to understand its behavior, counterattack, or find suitable countermeasures, adjustments are necessary. Blackshot and Withered Knight have already received changes in previous updates, but the team will continue to monitor statistics and player feedback.
Brandgaard plans to add a single-player mode in the first season. It will be available on normal and catastrophic difficulties. The developers explain that they’ve received a lot of requests for this mode from players who don’t have a fixed group of three, as well as players who don’t want to interact with random allies or prefer to check out routes, builds, and gameplay decisions on their own.
The developers explain that simply disabling allies isn’t enough. For a single-player game, you’ll need to individually adjust your opponent’s density, resource distribution, pressure during evacuation, and objectives on the map. Therefore, the developers will announce the specific rules and release date of this mode at a later date.
As for the trade, a specific date has not yet been announced. The team wants to define the rules first, taking into account the game’s economy, farm combat, and platform requirements. The developers see trading as a way to give players the opportunity to get rid of unnecessary items, understand their costs, and reduce the cost of finding the right items. Before launching the system, the team plans to work on a feedback system for searching and filtering items, displaying prices, and identifying suspicious and disputed transactions.
