Development studio Frogwares has released a new gameplay overview trailer for The Sinking City 2. While key dates such as the planned release date of August 18, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S are already known, the new film focuses primarily on sound and character management. The famous duo of Gemma Whelan and Andrew Wheeldon-Dennis have been cast as major characters in an upcoming Lovecraftian horror game.
Two voice actors voiced the central characters of the plot and brought them to life:
Andrew Weldon-Dennis plays the title role, Calvin Rafferty. After a failed dream ritual, Mystic finds himself drawn deeply into the dark events of Arkham City. Wheildon-Dennis has previously developed well-known games such as “Baldur’s Gate 3”, “Invincible”, “The Blue Prince” and “Dragon’s Dogma 3”.
Gemma Elizabeth Whelan voices Faye Bennett, who falls into a mysterious sleep after a failed ritual. The British actress rose to fame playing Yara Greyjoy on HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” and has proven her talents in games such as “Elden Ring,” “Mass Effect: Andromeda” and “Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III.”
In addition, the film clips also provide a new perspective on the setting and game mechanics of “The Sinking City 2”. The plot takes players to flooded Arkham in the 1920s, where a supernatural disaster has devastated the streets and spawned dangerous creatures called “Slithers.”
Compared to the investigative focus of the first installment, the sequel focuses more on ammo scarcity, inventory management, and the classic survival horror of combat on foot and by boat. Optional puzzles and detective work remain mechanics for unlocking additional secrets and equipment upgrades.
