Czech studio MADFINGER Games has announced major additions to its team. The deputy creative director role for tactical shooter Gray Zone Warfare is held by Ivan Bukhta, one of the main developers of the popular military simulator series Arma and co-author of DayZ. He has been working at Bohemia Interactive since 2006, rising from regular developer to creative director, so his extensive experience in creating deep hardcore simulations is a perfect fit for the concept of Laman Island Jungle.
The developer himself noted that he was attracted by the project’s massive ambitions and the solid foundation the author laid for a tactical sandbox. Studio management emphasized that Bukhta will be involved in developing the long-term vision for the game. As the next patch 0.5 has entered the final polishing stage, starting with update 0.6, players will be able to appreciate the full work of the new game designers. Since its early access release, the shooter has overcome many technical issues and continues to develop mechanics, and the arrival of industry veterans could take the project’s realism to a whole new level.
How do you assess the current status of Gray Zone Wars? Can the experience of Arma’s creators make the game the premier tactical shooter on the market?
