Only 9.7% of players on Steam are able to complete the story campaign of action game “Crimson Desert” nearly 5 months after its release. The game’s completion rate is 13% on Xbox and 15.2% on PS5.
Data from Steam, Xbox and PlayStation platforms show that the average story completion time is 69 hours, with many users spending more than 200 hours in the game. Players prefer to explore the open world, complete side missions and conquer territories, leaving the story of protagonist Cliff for later.
Pearl Abyss Studios has promised to fix narrative issues and improve the logic of key scenes in future updates. Despite criticism of the plot, the project was a commercial success: Crimson Desert has sold over 6 million copies and has an 83% positive rating according to reviews on Steam.
