The developer of SpaceBourne 2 explains why the game hasn’t received an update in so long. In recent months, the team has been trying to move the project from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5, but encountered serious technical issues and had to abandon the idea.
The current structural and design features of SpaceBourne 2 make migration too risky, the authors say. Continuing this work may lead to instability and new issues, so the game will retain its current technical foundation. Instead, the developers decided to focus directly on the further development of the project.
The team has also grown: a new team of experts is now working on SpaceBourne 2 alongside core developers. This should speed up bug fixes, technical improvements, and new content. The first result will be a major update that addresses bugs, stability, performance, and issues reported by the community.
Next, another major update is planned with new content and features from the previously released roadmap. The developers promise to take into account the accumulated feedback from players, and say they won’t have to wait too long: a corrective update should be released in the near future, followed shortly after by a content update.
