The ambitious game Blood of the Dawn Treader is scheduled to release on Steam on September 3, 2026, but the game has already become the center of a high-profile scandal due to its announced system requirements.
To max out the graphics settings, the developers recommend the flagship GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card, which currently starts at €4,500.

This appetite has prompted a flurry of criticism, especially on Reddit. According to the latest statistics from the Steam Hardware Survey, less than one percent of users have such a powerful accelerator, which is why a large part of the audience simply cannot appreciate the claimed picture quality.
Additionally, gamers were wary of traditional optimization issues and the misuse of frame generation techniques, noting that upon closer inspection the project’s visual style looked nothing like the technological breakthrough that would justify such lofty hardware requirements.
