Prominent Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer shares the latest news about the future of the cult franchise “Pirates of the Caribbean” and talks about Paramount Pictures Studios’ plans and merger deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.
According to Bruckheimer, the script for the sixth installment is currently in active production, and the creator of “Pirates of the Caribbean 6” is in talks with Johnny Depp. However, from inside sources, the upcoming film won’t be a standard continuation of Captain Jack Sparrow’s adventures – the plot will focus on a new heroine played by Margot Robbie, with the legendary pirate taking on a supporting role.
Additionally, Bruckheimer commented on David Ellison’s plan to move Paramount’s headquarters from California amid antitrust litigation and supported an ambitious merger with Warner Bros. Discovery. The producer expressed a desire to keep the studio in his hometown and stressed that he believed in Ellison’s plan to release 30 films a year.
