Publisher Whitethorn Games and indie studio Ephemera have decided on an exact release date for Kernel Hearts. It is a hybrid of fast-paced isometric action RPG and roguelike game and will be released simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC on September 17, 2026.
The events of the game take place in a dying world, falling into ashes. Players will play the role of fighting witches in the special MAHOU team, climb to the top of the Tower of Babel, fight angelic creatures and overthrow God. Gameplay is designed for solo play or co-op with up to four participants. During the game, the heroines combine blows, spells, and temporary transformations to assume their true magical girl forms, and in between attacks, they return to base to upgrade their characters’ operating system chips and form relationships with the tower’s residents.
