The gameplay video of the action game “Grand Theft Auto 6” released by the hacker organization Cyberleek is circulating on the Internet. The leak gives us a glimpse at an early version of the game and reveals detailed mechanics for interacting with the world outside of crime missions.
In the film, Jason spends time outside the house, and players can shoot the ball through a basketball hoop, gain focus stats, and experience realistic water physics. Additionally, the leak reveals interface features: the game has a contextual stamina level and two types of cash savings, separating the hero’s personal wallet and home improvement funds.
The second video shows a car trip and the NCP’s reaction to Jason’s behavior on the road.
The cherry on top is the complete map of Sin City.
Cyberleek said its main motivation for the action was a protest against modern industrial practices of digital pre-ordering and publishers’ rejection of full-fledged physical copies. Industry insiders pointed out that in the era of digital distribution, pre-sales no longer mean anything to consumers and have become a profit-making tool a few years before release. In a leaked image of the card, the hacker left a manifesto calling for a boycott of mindless buying of the game and for physical collector’s editions to be returned to store shelves.
