Noctua isn’t trying to follow some of the latest trends in PC cooling. Jakob Dellinger, the company’s product director, told Club386 that Noctua’s product line is unlikely to include cooling systems with RGB lighting, built-in displays, or even white versions of released models.

The company prefers to focus its engineering resources on improving the product’s thermal performance and reducing noise levels.
“We want to spend as few resources as possible to make everything look beautiful – that’s not our main goal. That’s why it’s highly unlikely that Noctua products will have huge, fancy screens or anything like that. Our goal is to increase thermal efficiency, improve quiet operation and ensure the highest possible quality.”” said a company representative.
Previously, the company even explained why the black version of its cooling system (chromax.black) was released later than the original beige version. Noctua makes its fans using an injection molding process, where plastic is melted and pressed into a steel mold. Adding another pigment during the manufacturing process may disrupt the gap structure between the fan blades and frame and may interfere with the performance of the Sterrox liquid crystal polymer (LCP) material used in Noctua fans. So the company focused on improving these aspects rather than adding RGB lighting and LCD screens here and there. Dellinger said he would rather invest resources in certifying new equipment to produce new models of fans than develop different colors.
