Google has started gradually rolling out a new advanced app installation process for Android, called the Advanced Process. This innovation aims to protect users from malware and scammers who use social engineering methods.
The main change is that there must be a 24-hour waiting period before first installation for programs from developers who have not been officially verified by Google’s system. To activate this feature, users need to enter developer mode, turn on the corresponding toggle, confirm the operation through the lock screen, read the warning and restart the device. The purpose of restarts and daily pauses is to interrupt potential contact with the scammer during the call. After completing the process, you can set the resolution to unlimited or 7 days.
Installations via ADB are not subject to the new restrictions, and developer mode can be disabled immediately after installation. Official verification for developers will begin on September 30 in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand, and will be available worldwide next year.
