Take-Two Interactive has begun actively issuing DMCA takedown notices for the Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay footage that leaked yesterday, indirectly confirming its authenticity.
With the game only months away from release, the footage itself has raised questions among fans due to differences in quality and expectations, but metadata on the files shows that the leaked version dates back to 2023.
Many major publications and content producers deliberately ignored these leaks to avoid damaging their relationship with the publisher, as they expected the game to have a closed preview and official extended release on Netflix on August 27, 2026.
Meanwhile, hackers have announced plans to attack other major studios, but now they will face a harsh legal response from Take-Two.
