MMORPG The Quinfall has switched to a new version after testing on the Beta branch. Update 1.2.0.1 is now available on live servers and brings major optimizations, redesigned lighting, and a mechanic that allows players to change their surroundings.
The main innovation was a system for excavating and shaping the terrain in the area surrounding the altar. Players now have tools to modify surfaces and grass, and explosive arrows can now dent and distort the ground during attacks. To prevent the mechanism from being abused, changes to the explosion occur gradually. The developers note that more advanced terrain work will come with the siege engine, and resources hidden underground will become available after the worker update is released.
Special attention is paid to performance. After a series of tests targeting CPU load, the developers carried out comprehensive optimization and claimed that FPS increased by 50-100% in the test scenario. Shadows and lighting have also been improved, and an issue with shadow flickering at night in some cities has been fixed.
Along with the change in technology, Zenith rewards also increased: the chance of obtaining Tera increased six times, and the number of action points increased by twenty. The developers consider this update to be the foundation for future Siege and Worker titles, which should expand the gaming experience.
