A New York court has officially approved Take-Two Interactive’s request to issue subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord. The publisher is trying to uncover the identities of the users and hackers hiding behind the pseudonym Cyberleek who organized a massive leak of Grand Theft Auto 6 material and gameplay.
According to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) filing, Take-Two is requesting account information, IP addresses, phone numbers, and a list of server members associated with the breach from Discord.
The company asked Microsoft to provide an internal investigation report, as well as information about Xbox, OneDrive accounts and GitHub repositories where copyrighted material was posted. The IT giant has until September 4 to comply with the court’s request.
