HBO Max has officially ordered a full season of the sequel to Jimmy Olsen’s Superman: The show, titled The People vs. Gorilla Grodd , will be a half-hour documentary-style comedy series.
Development of the series was known a year ago and has been entrusted to Dan Perot and Tony Yasenda (“American Vandal,” “The Players”). The main role will be played by Skylar Gisondo (“The Righteous Stone”), and Jimmy Tatro (“American Vandal,” “Hawks”) will play the furry telepath. Other familiar characters like The Daily Planet’s Cat Grant and Perry White will also appear in the series.
A super smart orangutan is convicted of murdering his father, the king of Gorilla City. In an eight-part documentary based on “true” events, The Daily Planet’s Jimmy Olsen reopens the investigation to find out whether Gorilla Grodd was wrongly convicted in Metropolis’ most famous murder trial.
