FromSoftware CEO Hidetaka Miyazaki has shared details about the matchmaking system in the Nintendo Switch 2 console’s ambitious PvPvE exclusive Dusk Blood. To avoid a situation where experienced players overwhelm newcomers, the studio is using a rating system to select opponents.
Miyazaki said stronger players will mainly compete against each other, while newbies will have a chance to adapt against equally strong opponents.
Additionally, the game will offer a seasonal structure with leaderboards, and victory will not be the only requirement for progression: story content and customization elements will be unlocked simply through regular play. The developers are also experimenting with mechanics that would allow experienced players to help newer players or form profitable alliances with them.
