Market analysts have previously reported that the number of players of Hellraiser 2 has exceeded the 20 million mark. Not only has this been officially documented, but further milestones have now been achieved. According to official news, as of August 9, 2026, the number of players of this action game is as high as 22.9 million.
The game releases in February 2024 on PS5 and PC, and in August 2025 on Xbox Series X/S. What’s remarkable about the new information: This is before Helldivers 2 is now included for free with a PlayStation Plus game subscription. Meanwhile, the next big jump may have already occurred.
Ultimately, Helldivers 2 solidifies its status as the most successful live-service game to date in Sony’s universe, which has been far from stellar and experienced its fair share of flops. The Arrowhead Game Studios title is clearly not one of them.
