After 13 years in development, Last Night may receive new details in September. The project began in 2014 as a prototype prepared by Tim and Adrien Soret for the Ludum Dare competition. They later founded the Odd Tales studio, and their games were backed by Raw Fury. In 2017, it fully showcased the Xbox One and PC versions at E3 2017 under the title Last Night. Since then, few details have emerged about the game, but the development lead hinted that the author plans to share something soon.
“Strange Stories” director Tim Sorrett report On their social networks, they expect to complete “Decade of Victims” next month and begin a new phase of the project.
Next month, if all goes according to plan, I should be moving on from ten years of sacrifice. It’s time. I’m just getting started. I still have so much to offer the world.
The developers didn’t specify what exactly will happen in September. Soret also said that Odd Tales has been building an independent studio in recent years, with its own technology, intellectual property rights and approach to world design, gameplay and storytelling. According to him, the team is supported by private investors, which allows it to maintain its independence and not agree to be acquired.
“The Last Night” combines pixel art with modern 3D lighting to depict a future where automation has largely replaced human labor. Gameplay revolves around exploration, dialogue, stealth, and gunplay.
There is currently no information on whether the game is still planned to be an Xbox console exclusive at launch.
