According to reports, the company will try to launch an updated version of the Mac mini under the leadership of Tim Cook, who will step down as CEO on September 1 to lead Apple’s board of directors. This will be the first update to the Mac mini in nearly two years. During the development phase, these computers were equipped with both M5 and future M6 processors, so it’s not entirely clear which processors will be suitable for the next generation of Mac mini production systems. This year, Apple hinted that it would assemble the Mac mini at a factory in Texas, but it’s difficult to tell whether that can be done in time for the launch of the new generation of PCs.
The wave of new Apple products to be released in the first half of this year is not limited to these decisions. In addition to the older iPhone 18 Pro model, Apple’s first foldable smartphone (tentatively named iPhone Ultra) may be released around September 9. The company will start sending out invitations to showcase these smartphones this week. The basic iPhone 18 and the “Anniversary” iPhone with a glass body panel will be released next year, with the latter arriving in the fall and the former in the spring.
The Apple Watch series of smart watches will receive a minor update this fall; Series 12 will be available in ceramic casings. Along with the new iPhones, the AirPods 5 wireless earphones will launch in September and will become the new base model of the series. The camera-equipped version will be delayed until next year. It will be released simultaneously with Apple smart glasses and a smart camera pendant, which will interact with the smartphone and use the built-in camera to assess the surrounding environment.
Apple will also launch a smart device with a screen this year that can recognize users through their faces and provide them with personalized content. The company’s product range will include Apple TV set-top boxes and HomePod mini smart speakers. This year will also see the launch of a compact iPad mini tablet that will feature an OLED display for the first time, but that won’t happen until the end of October.
Later, updated PCs will also be released, including an all-in-one iMac in new body colors and an entry-level MacBook Pro notebook equipped with M6-generation processors. For the first time, the MacBook Pro line includes models with 14-inch and 16-inch diagonal OLED touch displays.
By 2027, new basic iPads and iPad Airs will appear, MacBook Air and MacBook Neo laptops will be updated, and MacBook Pro models with touch screens will be equipped with M7-generation processors. By the fall, the second-generation foldable iPhone and the anniversary iPhone will be available with a classic layout, thanks to the presence of glass body panels that create a seamless transition from one side to the other.
