The team at Whitemoon Games has released a monthly report on the development of the MMORPG Broken Ranks, which focuses on balancing combat skills and saving the in-game economy from the effects of inflation. Based on surveys of experienced players and internal character statistics, the studio has prepared large-scale changes to the defensive skills of druids, fire mages, voodoos, archers, and barbarians, which will begin closed beta this week before being released on the PTR.
The second half of the report is devoted to economic issues: due to the high efficiency of the actors in the economy, there is an oversupply of gold. In order to balance the inflow and outflow of currency, developers announced the first phase of tough measures.
This includes reducing the gold rewards for level 140 daily quests (while increasing experience), increasing the market tax (to 5% / 3%), forcing the conversion of existing Emperor shares at a fixed rate, and increasing the death penalty at the highest level by introducing a severe debt debuff.
