“Fable” development director Ralph Fulton interviewed IGN Reviews claim that the ambitious fantasy role-playing action game has been delayed until 2027. Additionally, 18 minutes of gameplay of the game were showcased as part of the Gamescom 2026 showcase.

Let us remind you that Fable was originally scheduled to be released in the fall of next year, but due to the busy gaming calendar in the designated period of major releases (such as GTA VI), they decided to postpone the premiere to February 23, 2027.
“We represent a big competition ourselves. We have high standards. I would love to compete against many other competitions. There is only one [игра]which I’m happy to avoid entirely”Fulton shared.
According to Fulton, “Fable” was originally scheduled to be released in October before being postponed.
Of course, Fulton was hinting at the highly anticipated open-world crime thriller GTA VI. All the major fall releases are afraid to compete with Rockstar Games’ future hits – only Devolver Digital faces that fear head-on.
The developer isn’t afraid of competition from other February games like God of War Laufey, Metro 2039, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis: “People tell me this all the time, but we’re not afraid of other big games.”.
As for the gameplay of Gamescom 2026, the developers have arranged 18 minute demo Fable showcases city exploration, mission completion, and combat systems on the highest graphics settings.
Fable is being created for PC (steam, microsoft store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass subscriptions. They promise character editing, consequences of decisions, reputation mechanics, lots of quirky personalities, and dark humor.
