Publisher Owlcat Games and Polish studio Developer Another Angle Games attend Gamescom 2026 declare The exact release date for its Japanese turn-based role-playing game Shadow of the Road.

As a reminder, Another Angle Games received support from Owlcat Games in the summer of 2024, when Shadow of the Road was still in the early stages of development. According to the January trailer, a release is planned before the end of 2026.
It is understood that “Shadow of the Road” will be released exclusively for PC on November 12, 2026 (steam, GOG, epic games store). Along with this news comes a new drama Game trailer.
Users in the comments were delighted with the long-awaited announcement, praising Owlcat’s courage in choosing a release date and finding similarities between Shadow of the Road and popular role-playing games Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura.
Shadow Road takes place in 1868, when Japan became the site of a bloody confrontation between traditionalists and the forces of Emperor Mutsu Jin, backed by the East Japan Company.
The Shogun spy chief instructs Ronin Satoru and Akira to protect a boy with powerful and uncontrollable magic lurking within him. Players will challenge magical monsters and deadly steam engines.
They promise an exciting plot, characters with their own motivations and skills, classic turn-based combat with samurai accents, and Russian text translations. Still available on Steam Demo version.
