Studio Undead Labs has announced that the closed beta of the ambitious zombie survival game “State of Decay 3” will continue until the end of 2026, with a full release expected in 2027. This phase is important because it will allow the developers to attract more participants to test the largest map and seamless multiplayer in the series’ history.
After the first wave of alpha testing rolled out in the spring, the authors gathered feedback from players who noted improvements to lighting, dynamic weather, a responsive combat system, and character customization. Creative director Kevin Patzelt emphasized that an open development approach helps improve the permanent death mechanism and cooperative balance.
