Beamdog Studios has made an unexpected return to support the classic role-playing game, launching a public beta test of Planescape Torment: Torment: Enhanced Edition’s massive update 3.2.0. This is the first major patch for the game in years, and aims to bring modern engine improvements (previously implemented in Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale) to the streets of Darkmark.
The main gift to players is the official community integration of translated languages, including Russian. The technical portion of the patch includes native support for Apple Silicon processors on macOS, migration from libssl to OpenSSL on Linux, fixes for hardware keyboards on iOS, and a critical bug fix for Modron mazes that resulted in players needing to reset their entire location.
Additionally, the developers have simplified the installation of the mod and added the ability to adjust font sizes individually for different languages.
If you haven’t finished Planescape: Torment, don’t call yourself a high-class RPG connoisseur.
